Morice was born in San Francisco, CA where he spent half of his childhood before moving to Oakland, CA. During his high school years, Morice began playing football and quickly developed a love and passion for the sport.
When he graduated high school, Morice attended the University of California at Davis and was able to “walk” onto the Aggies football team. Morice played college football for four years as a starting safety. Morice graduated from UC Davis in 1994 with a degree in Sociology. After a few years of working, Morice decided to return to school to further advance his career potential. While maintaining a full time management position, Morice enrolled in National University and graduated in 2003 with a Masters degree in Business Management.
Over the past few years, Morice has been employed as a HR Manager. However, Morice has more recently developed a new passion (not to be replaced by his true passion: FOOTBALL) in teaching. Morice is currently a adjunct instructor at several local colleges. Morice has one younger sister, Shemika and a nephew, Juwan who is following in his uncles football footsteps.
Intro
Morice and I met in May of 2006 at Zokku’s in downtown Sacramento. The party hosted by Premier Productions was the perfect way to celebrate the three day weekend. Morice will not admit to it now, but he once told me that he noticed me the minute I walked through the door and sauntered across the room to the bar. As the party begin to get crowded, Morice miraculously managed to find himself standing at my side. It was then that we introduced ourselves. We spent the night dancing and enjoying each others company. I was naturally attracted to him. After all three of my weaknesses (tall, bald and he had a goatee) were all wrapped up into one man, not to mention he was educated, respectful and had a great sense of humor. We exchanged numbers and Morice even called me that night to ensure I made it home safely.
Proposal
In August 2007, Mo and I went on our first camping trip together (my idea of course). Our second evening in beautiful Lake Tahoe, Mo and I were playing a friendly game of dominoes. I have to admit, I lost pretty bad that eveing and was to redeem my name. However, Mo suggested we play a different game—Hangman!? I put up a fuss only because I really wanted a second chance at beating Mo in dominoes. But Mo insisted on Hangman and in order to get me to agree to play, he offered to do anything I requested if he was unable to guess my word. I of course won that first round of Hangman and now it was Mo’s turn. Mo sketched out the hangman and began drawing the blank spaces that would be filled in as I guessed the correct letters. However, we never made it that far.
__ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __?
Being the genius I am and a lover of word games, I knew the minute he drew all the blank spaces and added the question mark at the end, exactly what the phrase was. What I didn’t know was that Mo was really about to ask me. After asking Mo several times if he was serious, Mo came around the table to my side, got down on one knee and officially asked me to marry him.
And the rest as they say, is history.
